Metamorpho (1993)
Rex Mason, the world famous Metamorpho, used his recent fame as a member of Justice League International to make a return to solo action in the 4 issue Metamorpho limited series. Written by Mark Waid, with co-plotting and art chores handled by Graham Nolan, everyone's favorite walking chemistry set was in good hands as he met and battled another metamorph, but also searched for a cure for his mutated son Joey. In the end, the Element Man restored his son to human condition, and even fixed his own ailing marriage with his true love Sapphire Stagg.
The Comet
We meet the new hero the Comet as he is patrolling a college campus and stops a band of thieves calling themselves the Techno Geeks. What were they trying to steal? A video game. On the darker side people are being killed in town in a manner that suggests that an old folklore has come to life. Is the killer the real "Apple Jack " or is it some copycat looking to make a name for himself. His girlfriend, news reporter Victoria Johnson is hot on the trail of that story. We learn how the Comet got his powers and Victorias reaction to it. We never find out the Comets last name. Just his first ( Rob ), and we find out that the Applejack killer has his sights on Victoria as his next victim.
