A tantalizing original graphic-novel mystery from Eisner Award-winner and Eisner Award Hall of Fame inductee Paul Levitz (Legion of Super-Heroes) and Simon Fraser (Kingsman: The Red Diamond, Doctor Who). Paul Levitz is a comics industry legend as both an acclaimed writer and as a longtime editor, executive, and publisher at DC Comics. 75 Years Of DC Comics
In 1935, DC Comics founder Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson published New Fun #1, the first comic book with all-new, all-original comic material. What began as disposable media for children was soon on its way to becoming the mythology of our time, the 20th century's answer to Atlas or Zorro. Over 40,000 comic books later, in honor of the publisher's 75th-anniversary, Taschen has produced the single most comprehensive book on DC Comics in an edition even Superman might have trouble lifting. Over 2,000 images are reproduced to bring the storylines, the characters, and their creators to vibrant life as they've never been seen before. Telling the tales behind the tomes is 35-year DC veteran Paul Levitz, whose in-depth essays trace the company's history, from its pulp origins through to the future of digital publishing.

Stalker
This sword and sorcery title by scribe Paul Levitz and artist Steve Ditko epitomized the credo "Be careful what you wish for." The series' anti-hero was a nameless wanderer whose dreams of becoming a warrior brought him first slavery, then worse. Dgrth, the demon lord of warriors, answered the boy's prayers and granted him unparalleled combat skills, plus a hunter's gifts and name - in exchange for his soul. As Stalker the Souless, the youth came to realize that smiting his enemies brought him no joy, for he had been stripped of his humanity. From that point, the young hunter's target became the demon that made him. Stalker ran for four issues.

Tales of the Legion
While the cover title is "Tales of the Legion of Super-Heroes", the official title according to the indicia is simply "Tales of the Legion".Superboy (1949) - Issues 1-230Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes (1977) - Issues 231-258Legion of Super-Heroes (1980) - Issues 259-313, Annuals 1-3Tales of the Legion (1984) - Issues 314-354, Annual 4Beginning with issue #326, the series began reprinting the Legion of Super-Heroes (1984) series as part of DC's "hardcover/softcover" trial. The new Legion series was to be released solely through the direct market while the "Tales" series would continue to be released through both the direct and newsstand markets. This format was designed to emulate the mainstream book market where a book would be released in hardcover with a paperback (or softcover) release coming about a year later. In this case, the higher-priced direct market edition was the "hardcover" and the lower-priced newsstand edition was the "paperback."Most specialty comics stores quit ordering the Tales series after #325.
