Nicole Virella comic
Shadow Comics
Based on the classic radio and pulp character, 101 issues of the original Shadow Comics series were published in nine volumes. Each of the first eight volumes lasted 12 issues and were renumbered every thirteenth issue. It was cancelled when Street and Smith, in the midst of financial difficulties, stopped publishing all comics in 1949. The Shadow did not return to comics until his campy revival by Archie Comics in 1964.

Savage Tales (1985)
Where Marvel's Epic Illustrated had a science fiction and fantasy bent, Savage Tales featured "two-fisted" adventure stories, with predominantly war-time and western settings. While the series only lasted eight issues, it did introduce Larry Hama and Michael Golden's The 'Nam. While the content usually distanced itself from explicit sexual themes, the magazine's two scantily-clad "mascots" did appear on nearly every cover.

Real Screen Comics
Real Screen Comics was an anthology series published by DC from 1945 to 1959 over the course of 127 issues. Featured throughout the series run were the characters The Fox and The Crow and although they were the main feature, other stories were published in the series as well including "Flippity and Flop" and "Tito and His Burrito". The series title is a reference to "Screen Gems" the animation studio that existed from 1940-1946 wherein characters like those featured in the aforementioned comics originally came into being through the form of cartoons.

Peter Panda
Not all 1950's comics were full of super heroes, occult mysteries or star spanning adventures. Some were gentle kids fantasy titles like Peter Panda. Starting with a 1st issue drawn by Rube Grossman and believed to be written by Sy Reit, Peter and his friends Dronald Dragon and Jimmy and Janie Jones embarked on a 31 issue series of escapades. Peter abd his friends rarely met actual bad guys; rather harmless schemers like Foxy Dan. Most stories are fractured fairy tales or funny animal capers with many involving dragons from Dronald's neighborhood - which, reinforcing the series' kid friendliness - wasn't too far from Mother Goose's house.
