The character also appeared in the superhero group Ultraforce.

A Zero Month crossover issue. After its recent disbanding, the Justice League has invited heroes to join the team. Many heroes accept Wonder Woman’s invitation to join the league, including former members Crimson Fox, Fire, Flash, Hawkman, and Metamorpho. The League has rebuilt one of the Overmaster’s escape pods, and is using that as their new orbital headquarters. At one last pickup, a last batch of heroes has accepted the invite: Blue Beetle, Nuklon, and Obsidian; except, after the pickup, Crimson Fox notices that the Blue Beetle is acting strange. It ends up that the heroes have not picked up Beetle, but rather a robot impersonating him in order to gain access to the Overmaster’s computer system. After a lengthy fight, the League defeat the robot, thanks to newcomers Nuklon and Obsidian. The new league has been formed.

Later he is seen taking the last survivor of the kinghts of banner, Gawain, to get to a safer location. Unfortunately the evil villain\ glory hog Draco had other plans and started ravaging the area, which only dispatched the police who accidently shot Gawain. This sent John into a frenzy revealing his new monstrous form which he then used to destroy most of his surroundings. Draco left before he could really get hurt by the beast.

The police chase after a teenage shoplifter into an alley, where they are confronted by a large being made of rock. The police officers shoot him, but to no avail. The rock being, Boomboy, knocks out the police officer and runs with the shoplifter, Anything, but are surrounded by more police officers. Pressure shows up and tries to blast the officers with her super power, but Anything takes the brunt of the blast on purpose. They continue to escape into the sewers. Anything thinks about his past, when he was a star football player in his high school. During a game, he was struck by surprise from a rival football player and his body was jolted into a completely liquid form. The incident caused him to run away. While the police ponder their next move, Boomboy, Anything and Pressure arrive at their safe haven and find a new person, Sweetface, waiting there. It is revealed that the four youths are all runaways and have been joined together by one person. That person, Plug, reveals himself through a television set and other electronic devices bound together that were laying about in the abandoned building. The police surround the building they are all in.
