The Defenseless Dead
Second miniseries, following on from ARM, adapting the Larry Niven detective stories starring telekinetic ARM (Amalgamation of Regional Militia) agent Gil "the Arm" Hamilton. The Defenseless Dead who provide the story's title are "corpsicles", people who had themselves cryogenically frozen in the hopes of being eventually revived in the future, either because they suffered from medical conditions which could not yet be cured or simply in the desire of being woken in what they hoped would be a better era than their own; however, the corpsicles were now gradually being declared legally dead by the UN, so that their organs could be harvested for transplant.
Robotech: Invid War
The original plan was do divide the Invid War series into two parts, before the Invid arrived , and the lead up to New Generation. And then a third part would cover the that saga. Malibu committed to only the first four issues, but when the reception was good, more issues were approved. And after issue eight, the series became open-ended, allowing the production staff to follow their original outline. It subsequently wrapped up at 18 issues.
