Eddie Spaghetti
Eddie, accompanied by his big goofy dog, goes fishing in his goldfish bowl, saws the legs off a too-high table, and takes a bath with his clothes on! The bright colors, lively drawings, and sing-songy rhymes will delight young readers as they follow along Eddie’s lighthearted mischief. Originally created by Israeli artist Aryeh Navon and Lea Golberg in the 1930s, Rutu Modan offers her own playful take on this classic character for a new, international generation of young readers.

The Golem's Mighty Swing
James Sturm pens this richly evocative graphic novel set in the 1920s. The Stars of David, a barnstorming Jewish baseball team, travel from town to town earning a living by playing local squads. They all sport beards, a gimmick to attract patrons but when financial difficulties threaten to end their season they cast their lot with a Chicago promoter who has just seen the hugely successful German silent film Der Golem... With the golem, a baseball game is transformed into a mythical pageant. Fear and curiosity fills the stadium, but it also stokes the flames of anti-Semitism. Winning the game for the Stars of David becomes less important then surviving it. With a sepia-tinted cinematic style, this compelling book reminds us that making it home is at the heart of baseball.

Clouds Above

This brilliant, full-color graphic novel doubles as a wondrous children's book, recalling such classics as Where the Wild Things Are, The Wizard of Oz and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, with its depiction of a fantastic world that lurks just around the corner from reality and that only children know exists.

Return to Duckburg Place
Though non-canonical as such, the story appears to take take place in a universe where a number of Carl Barks's stories (up to 1958) happened, allowing 12 years' gap between the last Barks story and the events of Return to Duckburg Place. Post-1958 stories notably appear null and void, with no trace of Magica De Spell in the apocalyptic Duckburg; reference is made to "grisly" events happening as early as 1962...
