Crimebuster Classics
Charles Biro’s long-running star of Lev Gleason’s Boy Comics returns in a spectacular return performance of some of his best stories from comics’ Golden Age. “The Big Blast” is drawn by future Joe Kubert partner and Three Stooges producer Norman Maurer, as C.B. breaks up a gang using boobytrapped T. V.’s as murder weapons. “Spectators Also Die”, by Biro and Willian (Steve Roper)Overgard has C. B. sorting out a love triangle between Buzzy, Joanie and Scooter. Buzzy ends up dead. “The Turtles’ Secret”,by Charles Biro has Crimebuster and his sometimes-partner Squeeks the Monkey on the trail of $25,000,000.00 in pirate treasure, and “Emergency Chute Failed” (By Biro and Overgard) has C. B. and Squeeks sorting out a fixed air race. Every story is lovingly restored and reprinted as cleanly as the day it went to press . Stories are from Boy Illostories #’s 79, 99, and 103. Color cover by Biro, interiors are black and white. Standard comic format.

They feel better about themselves, while he continues his miserable, dreary existence. However, all that is about to change when Alan responds to a job advertisement. He soon discovers an organization completely staffed by alternative variants of himself. And if that wasn’t mind-blowing enough, his alternatives are at war with, um, themselves, or at least variants of themselves in some form or other - it can all get a little confusing.

Fiction House's Latin bombshell, Senorita Rio (from Fight Comics) was revived by AC Comics as Rio Rita, and as such was part of both the first feature length appearance, and first regular-series issue of their long-running Femforce title. She and her granddaughter, Rita Farrar, have remained supporting characters in the AC universe. This special-format album opens with a newly-created retro story, set in WW II Paris, where Rio goes undercover as a nightclub dancer among the Axis soldiers in "Chamber Of Death!", plotted by Nick Northey, with script and inks by Bill Black, and pencils by Brad Gorby. Then, it's actual vintage full story Golden Age Rio Rita reprints for the rest of the book, including "The Sadistic El Sangre", with art by Nick Viscardi, from Fight Comics #21," El Fuente", also with art by Viscardi, "The Knife", from Fight #46, art by Bob Lubbers, (reinked by John Dell ), and "Baron Death", from Fight #66, drawn by Jerry Garndenetti. Plus, text history by Bill Black, profusely illustrated by Lily Renee, Joe Doolin, Bob Lubbers and Jack Kamen. Sultry, sophisticated and sexy, Rio was the classic Fiction House babe. If you're interested in "good girl art" of the pinup, glamour variety, you'll want to have this book.

Cat-Man Ashcan
Holyoke Comics top costumed crimefighter of the Golden Age returns in a pair of beautifully reprinted stories featuring the Feline Fury and his youthful aid, Kitten. “Larceny in Liquid”, with art by Charles Quinlan is from Catman Comics #20, and involves one of the Cat’s two top adversaries- Mr. Peccary. The second story, (untitled) comes from Catman #30, and is drawn by the great Bob Fujitani. It features our hero’s other great opponent, Dr. Macabre, wherin the good doctor teams up with two larcenous and mad sisters, and a team of murderous, trained gorillas. Also, you get an Alan Mandel-drawn adventure of the costumed crimefighter known only as The Hood. It originally saw print in Catman Comics #20. Color cover by fan-favorite L. B. Cole, it also has a frontis sketch by Brad Gorby. Interiors are black and white with graytones.
