Tales of the Green Hornet (1990)

"The Burma Horse", Part One: Down And Dirty, As the second Green Hornet & Kato team break up a drug ring in The City, the senior partner receives a bullet wound to the upper left arm. The injury is superficial, but enough to put him out of action for a while (and to make him think about "retirement"). Hayashi consequently opts to accept a long-standing invitation to visit his family back in Japan and catches a flight "the next day." The two Brits find nothing more interesting in the drug ring's captured records, made available to them by District Attorney Diana Reid, than the "reference to something called "The Burma Horse."

Strike Force: Solitary Sentinel Part 1, A senior citizen Britt Reid II thinks back. November 1990: Despite having his "thug tactics" exposed by the Daily Sentinel and other media outlets, Leon Marshall is elected mayor; Several members of the city council "mysteriously resign" and are immediately replaced by mayoral interim appointees, who quickly pass oppressive laws, with judges who are Marshall cronies blocking court challenges; Hayashi's brother Kumara is scheduled to visit to discuss perceived problems with the US-based Kato's martial arts movies, but shows up in a drugged state and fights Hayashi, who loses out of an unwillingness to hurt him and is imprisoned; An armed assault on Reid Tower via helicopters occurs when Paul Reid is home alone, but he escapes by way of the secret doors, elevators, and passageways of the Green Hornet operation.
